The Rappahannock Rescue Squad took R. E. Wood from his home in Sperryville to the University of Virginia Hospital on Sunday afternoon. Monday afternoon three victims of an automobile accident on Route 211 were taken to the Warren Memorial Hospital. Flint Hill Rescue Squad ambulance also took two persons from the same accident to Warren Memorial Hospital. Amisslville Fire Company answered a call Sunday morning to Route 611 where a jeep was on fire. Tuesday, the Washington, Castleton and Sperryville fire companies responded to the property of Mrs. Henry Cannon near Rock Mills where a hay barn was struck by lightning and was destroyed.
