A $4500 grant to Rappahannock County to finance the development of a Comprehensive plan for Water and Sewage has been approved by the Farmers Home Administration, reports E. C. Compton, the agency’s State Director. The grant will enable the county Board of Supervisors to give the county’s Planning Commission the financial assistance needed to hire a consultant engineer to aid with the development of a water and sewer plan. The completed plan will serve as the official guide for future developments of water and sewer facilities in Rappahannock County. At the present time there are only two public water systems and no sewer systems in the county. These two water systems are in need of improvement or to be replaced. There are several areas in Rappahannock County that are not suited for development to residential sites without water and sewage facilities. It is estimated that thefuture development of water and sewer facilities will open the door for the development of many areas of Rappahannock County. Members of the Board of Supervisors of Rappahannock County are: J. Newbill Miller Chairman; E. M. Jones, Clerk; E. H. Luttrell, Member; Herbert A. Foster, Member; and H. B. Wood, Member. General Daniel Noce is Chairman of the Rappahannock County Planning Commission.
