In most cases the transplanted portion is the cornea, the transparent shield which covers! the iris of the eye This operation has now become commonplace and the incidence of sjuccess is high. Already thousands of blind per sons have been given sight, sometimes for the first time in their 1/ives. In the case of the deceased donor, there are no cosmic effect, no evidence that the eyes have been removed.
