April 19 Date Chosen

For Beauty Pageant

April 19 has been approved as the date for the annual Beauty Pageant sponsored by the Rappahannock Jaycees. The pageant will be held at 8 p.m. this date in the auditorium of Rappahannock County High School, and will include lovely ladies from 4 to 120 years of age.

Prize money given will total $250 with part of it delegated for a school scholarship to the older age group winner. Additional activity is planned in connection with the pageant this year. A dance for those participating and high school students is scheduled a week later, April 26. According to pageant chairman, Jim Willis, sponsor fee’s this year will be $2 per entrant and businesses will be contacted to sponsor candidates. Anyone wishing to sport sor a contestant or any individual wishing to enter the pageant is requested to contact Mr. Willis, or Sperryville Corner Store, Sperryville; Irvin L. Kenyon, Slate Mills or Garfield Burke, Woodville.

Washington Elcm. PTA Meets Tuesday, Feb. 20

The Washington Elementary School PTA will hold a meeting Tuesday, February 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the school. Judge T. C. Lea will speak to the group on Juvenile Law. Girl Scouts will be available to care for small children if needed while parents attend the meeting.
