Miss Beverly Payne received the tiara Saturday night at the Coronation Ball making her Sweetheart Queen of Rappahannock County High School for 1968. She collected 19,250 votes. Close behind was Eleanor Rector with 18,304 votes. .Joaft Kay Welch was second runner up. Certainly all the candidates did an outstanding job with total votes amounting to 68,168 or $681.68. This will, of course, be a great supplement to the school’s Scholarship Loan Fund and the girls should be congratulated for their fine efforts. Mr. Tom Young of the Herff Jones Company was at RCHS Monday the 5th taking orders for senior invitations and calling cards. After 12 years of struggling/ the seniors, of course, were mighty proud
be placing those orders! SCA elections will be conducted next Friday the 23. It is truly a great honor to serve on the SCA Executive Council, so please give careful consideration to the candidates. I am sure you want the jppst capable person in office, ■IKK the most popular. A committee of Seniors are reviewing play books in preparation for the Senior Play. With the help of Mrs. Moffett and Mrs. Kilby, the senioi plan to present the play in April. Mrs. Moffett’s 10th grade girls still hold the “No. 1 Neat People- banner in the school beautification competition. Will they remain on top the rest of the year? The SCA met Monday, Feb. 12 and plans for their final dance were discussed. Plans are not yet definite but a Sadie Hawkins Dance (where the girls invite the boys) is planned tentatively for Friday, March 15. Mr. Neff is a little wary of a Sadie Hawkins Dance mainly because this is Leap Year! A Distributive Education sui vey is being conducted through out RCHS to determine the possibility of having a Distributive Education program in school next year.
