Point-to-Point Races
Set for March 2nd
The March 2nd Rappahannock Hunt Point-to-Point Races, second event intheViF ginia Spring race circuit, will follow the Casanova Races by one week. Frigid February temperatures are plaguing race preparations. Owners and riders are hard put to it to condition their horses; however, entries are coming in as usual For the convenience of those entering the races, the Rappahannock course will be open for schooling, starting Friday, February 23rd through Friday March 1.
Point-to-Point enthusiasts and friends of the Rappahannock Hunt are invited to become race sponsors. Sponsors receive a reserved park ing place located on the hill above the race course and two admittance t-icketsfor $10.00. Miss Sue Haggerty, (address Sperryville, Va., phone 987-8161,) will accept requests for reservations and send tickets.
On the day of the races, admittance is available at the gate on Route 522. General parking across the Sperryville Pike from the course is $1.00 per car. Walk gate admission is $1.50 per person.
Rappahannock Hunt members will have a special park ing area located above the pad dock. It is necessary for them to sponsor the races in order to avail themselves of this position.
