Scout Kickoff Meet
Held on Feb. 12th
A kick-off meeting for the 1968 Enrollment of Sustaining members in Rappahannock County in the Shenandoah Area Council, Boy Scouts of America was held at a breakfast Monday, February 12 atHamp ton Inn. Fourteen men were present to meet with Louis Costello and Judge T. C. Lea, Executive Board members and Vernon La Bar re, Council Scout Executive. Sustaining members are per sons who financially support the Administration and Scouting Program of the Shenandoah Area Council. The Council provides training courses and materials for Scout Leaders, organizes Scout Units, maintains Camp Rock Enon at Gore, Va. for Scouts to use during the summer and for weekend camping. A Scout Service Center is maintained and staffed at Winchester for record keeping, and service to Scout Units in this area. Chairmen for the financial enrollment are J. N. Miller, County Chairman, P. Lee Thornton, Major Membership chairman; and area chairmen,' James F. Massie, Amissville, W. F. Moffett, Jr., Washington, J. B. Willis, Sperryville, J. G. Carney, Jr., Woodville and E. J. Welch, Flint Hill. Persons will be contacted during the next 2 weeks for their enrollment. A final report on the enrollment will be made by the area chairmen on Monday, February 26, at 8:15 a.m. at the Hampton Inn.
