Col. Gilbert G. Cosden of Sperryville spoke to the Civil Defense class Monday at R.C.H.S. and discussed and answered questions concerning survival on the farm, the need for fallout shelters and personal protection and the effects of nuclear weapons. All school teachers have been required to take the course. Following the meeting, refreshments were served and enjoying coffee and cake are Col. Cosden, Mrs. Frances Carney and Mrs. Jewelle Magarity. J. W. Coates, manager of the A.S.C.S. office, gave the class information on the role his office would play in the aftermath of disaster.
