Joseph Burnham Johnson, 84, of Sperryville died Wednesday, February 6, 1968 in a Luray nursing home, following a long illness. He was a lifelong resident of Rappahannock County, son of the late Charles Newman Johnson of Alexandria and the late Mary Bruce Johnson of Rappahannock. A retired auctioneer, Mr. Johnson also specialized in the raising and training of fox-hounds and hunters. As an athlete in his early days he excelled in baseball.

Survivors include a son, Joseph B. Johnson, Jr. of Ale* andria, two daughters, Mrs. Fred W. Schaefer of Sperry
