DAR Group Honors Rep. Marsh for History
Washington— Rep. John O. Marsh, Jr. was honored by the District of Columbia Daughters of the American Revolution, Monday night (March 5) for “outstanding contributions in the field of American history".
The 7th District Congressman received the award at the annual Conference Banquet of District of Columbia D.A.R. ChapteTs at the Mayflower Hotel here. The history award is one of several made annually by the Conference. Others are given in the fields of education and patriotic service. Marsh was the original sponsor of legislation to establish the American Revolution Bicentennial Commission. He was appointed a member of the Commission by the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
File Returns Early
IRS Director Pleads
In a special plea to Virginia taxpayers today, IRS District Director, James P. Boyle asked taxpayers expecting refunds on their 1967 tax returns to file them before April 5. Mr. Boyle explained that processing work in the Service Center is now at the lowest ebb in the filing period.
Refunds on correctly prepared returns filed now will be issued within five weeks. Refund returns filed later may become intermirigled with the traditional last minute avalanche of returns and processing might be unavoidably delayed. Director Boyle admitted that
