Dear Editor:

What I am writing is not an objection to a person or persons. It is an objection to the proposed establishment of a rock quarry and asphalt plant on the outskirts of the Town of Washington, Virgina. This would be an objection regardless of the person or persons proposing to open up such an operation. First, the health of the community should be considered: The dust and smoke from the crusher and the asphalt plants would not only be annoying but: injurious to the health of the persons living in the community. Everyone today is conscious of air pollution and what it means to health. I am told that the smoke from the asphalt burning would be even worse than the dust. We do not want to add to the pollution we already have from other sources.
