Scouts Declare

War On Litter

A project for the picking up of litter along the North Fork of the Thornton River and Piney Branch and the nearby roadway is planned for thn Saturday March 30, 1968. This project is being sponsored by the Rapp. Co. Jaycees. The cooperation of the Boy Scouts is vital to the success of this program. It is a chance for the scouts to have a group outing while doing a grand civic service.

These streams are located >n rts. 600 and 612 near Sperryville. They have been chosen because they will be stocked with trout this week and will have a number of people using them this Spring and Summer. Both local people and a number of visitors to our County. The Jaycees will provide the food for a picnic the evening of the 30th, for all those who help. Bring your own food for the mid-day meal. The Jaycees will provide the sacks for picking up and a truck will be on hand to haul it away. Transportation will be provided as needed. Troops needing transportation should contact he Project Chairmnnand plan to be at their regular troop meeting places at 9:30 a.m. Work will start at 10:00a.m.
