Dear Editor:
The Rappahannock News last week published an article that just clipped Chicken Little’s wings. However, there wa s one advantage to her wings being clipped —she wouldn’t have as many feathers to catch the dust and asphalt smoke from the proposed quarry. There was a disadvantage too, she couldn’t fly high any more to get out of that dust and smoke. Chicken Little was living quietly and peacefully when suddenly one day something hit her - a piece of it fell. It alarmed her very much. She was thinking of the safety of her neighbors and all the folks around. Being a little chicken she couldn’t get around fast enough to warn them of the danger; so she used another means of communication. Now Chicken Little never knew Alexander Graham Bell personally, when he was alive, but she felt very grateful for his wonderful invention atthisparticular time.
