There has been a considerable rise in educational accomplishment since 1960, when the last census was taken Solely from a dollars and cents consideration, the studies indicate that education pays off handsomely. The investment of time, effort and money that is required to obtain additional schooling yields high dividends. According to the latest survey of earning power, comfiiled

by the Institute of Life nsurance from government data, the average high school graduate will earn about $84,000 more than a person with only an elementary school diploma. By the same token, the college graduate will end up with about $141,000 more than the high school graduate. In Rappahannock County, the earning prospects are good because the level of education is relatively high and is getting higher. Locally, the median amount of schooling for male residents has now reached approximately 7.1 years.

Dance Scheduled at Sperryville April 20

Sperryville Volunteer Fire Company and the Rappahannock Jaycees will co-sponsor a dance at the new fire hall, Sperryville, on Saturday, April 20 from 9 to 1 o’clock. Music by the Clark County Ramblers. Admission $1.50 per person.
