INITIAL PROJECT

SPERRYVILLE AREA

To construct, maintain, and operate a sewer system, or systems, to supply sewage services to an area referred to as the Sperryville area and described ns follows in said Martin, Clifford & Associates engineering report (IX-J3 & IX-14),: The proposed sanitary sewer system for the Sperryville area would include gravity mains serving the populated areas of the town, and the populated portion of Route 211 west of the town. It is proposed that the sewage would be collected at a central point for disposal south of the present cunning factory and near the Thornton River. It is recommended that sewage treatment be provided in u sewage lagoon located at this point. This lagoon should be constructed as an interim facility with the thought that n larger treatment plant may be constructed downstream at some later date. This system would involve a pumping station near the treatment plant to raise the sewage to the level of the proposed lagoon. The financial calculations for the proposed Sperryville sewerage project may be briefly summarized us follows :

Total project costs $200,000

Assume connection charges of

$400 for residents nnd

$000 for commercial
