David A. Alther
A funeral service for David Austin Alther of Washington, Va. was held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Washington Baptist Church, the Rev. Ray Williamspfficiat ing. Buriel was in Washington Masonic Cemetery. Mr. Alther, 92, died Wednesday, April 10. He was a native of Rappahannock County, son of the late Jacob Alther. He is survived by four halfsisters, Mrs. Bessie Woodward, Mrs. Virgie Pullen and Miss Emma Alther, all of Sperryville, and Miss Ollie Alther of Washington, D. C., and two half-brothers, Jonas Alther and George Alther, both of Sperryville. Pallbearers for the service were Harold Estes, Everett Estes, William Estes, Wally Alther, Johnny Alther, Thomas Alther and Jonas Alther.
