The marriage of Miss Lynda Lee Thorpe of Newsoms, Virginia and Glenn Hartwell Updike of Virginia Beach, Virginia took place Saturday April 13 at two thirty o'clock in the afternoon in Barnes Methodist Church, Newsoms, The bride is the daughter oi Mr. and Mrs. Lee Lafayette Thorpe of Newsoms. Mr. Updike is the son of Mr.andMrs John Berral Updike of Washington, Virginia. The Rev. C. Roy Everett oi Falls Church, a cousin of the bride, performed the double ring ceremony in a setting of candles, palms and baskets of white mums.
