Chapman
David Vance Chapman, 90, a retired machinist and manufacturer, died at his home in jSperryville, May 22, 1968. He was a native of Alexander County, N. C. and came to Rappahannock County in 1903. At this time he managed an insulator pin manufacturing company and later established his own company. Mr. Chapman was a member of the Washington Masonic Lodge No. 78 AF&AM and was a past Master of Mt. Moriah Lodge No. 220AF&AM, Sperry ville. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Grace Brown Chapman of the home address; a son, David V. Chapman, Jr. of Richmond; a daughter, Mrs. Mary C. Wake of Amburg;four grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Raleigh Kerley of Taylorsville, N. C. and Mrs. Will Robinette, Statesville, N. C. A graveside funeral service was conducted at Sperryville Cemetery on Saturday with the Rev. Edward C. Pruitt officiating.
