grandchildren will be allowed to fish, hunt and trap on their grandparent’s property without a license. In the past, only the landowner, their husband or wife, and sons and daughters were license exempt. In the past non-resident children had not been properly exempt from fishing licenses as had resident children. As of June 28, non-resident children under 12 may fish without a license, except in trout stocked streams, when with a person with a valid Virginia license. Fishing license exemption to resident children Is still extended to those under 16. Of course they need not be accompanied by a licens holder.
