Miss Bonnie DeMent of, Sperryville left Saturday, August1
31 for a year’s tour in Europe, j She will live in Nottingham,! England and travel extensively' throughout Europe. While touring in France, Italy, Spain and numerous other countries, she will be purchasing antiques for her father’s shop. Fairlawn Antiques in Sperryville.
Bonnie will be accompanied by her uncle and aunt, Professor and Mrs. Joseph W. Wiedel of the! University of Maryland. In thej late summer of 69, she will return home on the ocean liner the S. S. France. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. E. Steve DeMent III of Fairlawn Estate, Sperryville and a 68 graduate of Rappahannock County High School.

Tennis Tourney
The fourth annual Rappahannock Invitational Handicap Mixed Doubles Whistle Cup Tennis Tournament was held during the holiday weekend. Thirty four players participated in the two-day event with matches being held on the courts of R. V. Snead, Washington, N.K.G. Tholand, Sperryville and I. L. Parrish, Viewtown. The finals took place at the Tholand court, Piedmont Farm on labor Day.
Championing over all were Ray Brown of Madison and Alice Moore of Woodberry Forest who took two consecutive sets, 6-1 and 7-5 over their opponents T. Carlyle Lea, Jr. and Pipsie Bichoff.
