C. G. Thornhill entered five head of hogs at the Orange Area Junior Market Hog Show and Sale held at Orange Livestock Market on August 27th. Four graded US +1, while the fifth graded f2. C. G. exhibited three of his hogs in the single classed winning 2nd, 3rd and 5th places. The Grand Champion Single was exhibited by Horace Garth of Greene County which fetched 40 cents a pound and was bought by Shen-Valley Meat Packers. Horace also exhibited the Reserve Champion pen of three. His sister, Mary, reserved winnings by having the reserve single and G. C. pen just to keep the family record clean.
