Chester Gap Baptist Church was the scene, Saturday, August 17, 1968 for the marriage of Miss Rebecca Louise Rector, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Lyle Rector of Flint Hill and Abraham Jacob Burke, son of Mrs. Martha Gillespie of Front Royal.
The Rev. Ralph J. R as berry performed the ceremony at five o’clock before a background of palms, gladioli, mums and snapdragons.
Rose Marie Partlow of Washington, cousin of the bride, played “Dream of Love” and the traditional wedding marches.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor-length gown of Chantilly lace over acetate. Scalloped lace at yoke and oval neckline accented the fitted bodice and tiered scalloped lace formed the short sleeves. Her veil fell from a velvet bow and was edged with lace. She carried a bouquet of white daisies, white rosebuds and fern, with streamers of white ribbon.
