Dr. William-E. Skelton, Dean of the Extension Division of Virginia Polytechnic Institute, has announced the appointment of Miss Tommie Lou Hunter as Program Leader, Home Economics.
Miss Hunter’s major responsibilities in this position will be to provide leadership and supervision in Home Economics programs in the nineteen counties which make up the Northern Extension District in Virginia.
The Program Leader serves as a connecting link between sources of education and the County Extension Agents for intensive assistance in meeting the rapidly changing situations of home, family and community living of citizens of Virginia.
Miss Hunter is a native of Elmer, Oklahoma. She received her B. S. degree from Southwestern State College and Master’s at Oklahoma State University.
Miss Hunter has had wide experience as a Home Economics Estension Agent in Oklahoma.
Recognitions received by Miss Hunter include membership 1n Epsilon Sigma Phi, National Association of Extension Home Economists and the American j Home Economics Association.
Miss Hunter will be headquartered in the District Office of the V.P.I. Extension Division which is located at 218 Page Street in Luray.
Ladies’ Aux To Meet
The Amissville Ladies Auxiliary will hold its regular meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at the fire hall. All members are requested to be present.
