Charles E. Smith, son of Mrs. Milton G. Hitt of Amissville, has been promoted to technical sergeant In the U. S. Air Force.
Sergeant Smith is a manpower management technician at Columbus AFB, Miss. He is a member of the Strategic Air Command.
Hie sergeant, a graduate of Rappahannock County High School, Washington, Va., attended Mississippi State University.
His wife, Lavera, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James G. Todd of 3305 Camellia Drive, Kinston, N. C.
In his fourth year at the Academy, Jimmy has attained the rank of Sergeant First Class in the Cadet Corps.
