Mrs. G. W. Smith, jr. entertained the Washington Bridge Club and additional guests Thursday evening at her home in Flint Hill. Her guests were Mrs. L. J. Turner, Mrs. W. H. Massie, jr., Mary T. C. Lea, Mrs. C. B.j Palmer, Mrs. E. M. Jones, Mrs. Rayner V. Snead, Mrs. Henry M. Keyser, Mrs. L. B. Burford, Mrs. M. R. Bradford, Mrs. F. W. Spalding, Mrs. Harry Lee Smith and Mrs. Paul Miller. Prizes were awarded to Mrs. Keyser, Mrs. Jones, Mrs. Spalding and Mrs., Bradford. 1

OBITUARIES

Mrs. M. E. Moss

Mrs. Mariah Elizabeth Moss, 76, i of Amissville died December 7,i 1968 in Fauquier Hospital, Warrenton, after a long illness. She was a retired merchant and had operated a store and service station near Amissville for 35 years. She was the widow of Charles Jasper Moss.

She was a native of Rappahannock County, bom February 15, 1892, at Locust Dale Farm near Massies Comer, the daughter of James Elias Best and Alice Tapp Best.

Mrs. Moss was a member of the Amissville Methodist Church and a member of the Real Daughters of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Warren Rifles Chapter 934. Her father served with McGregor’s Battery “Stuart Horse Artillery.” Mrs. Moss is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Gloria Martin of Amissville, Mrs. Rachel Harrington of Falls Church, two step-children, Mrs. Genevieve Hitt of Remington; and Charles E. Moss, Falls Church; and 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Virgie Wilkerson of Front Ro^al.

A funeral service was held Monday at 2 p.m. from the Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton with interment in Warrenton Cemetery. TTie Rev. W. A. Layman, pastor of her church, officiated. Pallbearers were Rob Johnson, Dalton Johnson, Graham Hackley, John Hackley, John Tapp and Maddox Tapp.
