Conference Night
Combined with PTA
A meetirtg of the Rappahannock County Elementary PTA combined with Parent-Teacher Conference Night is scheduled for Thursday, February 20 at the school beginning at 7 p.m.
A panel will discuss the various phases of the instructional program in the elementary school here. Panel members will be O.A. Norton, Superintendent of Schools and Robert Leonard, Director of Instruction; Frank Wool, elementary supervisor and Robert Mead, Home-School Coordinator, and Clayton Turner, Title I Coordinator. Members of Rappahannock County School Board are also scheduled to be present.
After the meeting, teachers will be in their classrooms for conferences with parents on the progress of students work this year. Parents are urged to avail themselves of the opportunity for personal consultation with instructors.
A short social hour will be held in the school library.
Advance Payments
On Feed Announced
Advance payments under the 1969 Feed Grain and Wheat Programs were authorized today at the following rates: (a) 50% of the estimated feed grain diversion payment; (b) 50% of the estimated wheat diversion payment, according to W. T. Powers, State Executive Director, Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS).
This announcement comes on the third day of the enrollment period which commenced February 3, during which period farmers signing for the two programs were told advance payments were not yet! authorized.
Mr. Powers stated that! instructions are being forwarded to county ASCS offices today. He expects that advance payments to J producers who have already enrolled will be computed and j drafts forwarded to such farmers j as quickly as possible. !
