We have been having some difficulty with phone service in Amissville for the past couple of weeks. Calls are invariably reaching the wrong number. I have had calls late ai night and early in the morning, getting me out of bed only to find they have reached the wrong number. The funniest story to come out of this occurred Saturday night during the sneaky snow storm. A young man who had a date with a young lady got hung up in the snow and tried to reach the young lady’s father by phone to explain that lie would be late returning the daughter to her home. He reached a wrong number, that of a local minister, and when he realized with whom he was talking, the
