Tuesday night the Panthers, in one of their most exciting games of the season, were topped by District 10 leader Luray 79 to 70 at Lurav. A strong second half effort bv the Panthers, hitting 28 of 37 attempts from the charitv line, pulled them to within 10 of the Rulldocs several times late in
|the third and fourth nuarters, after trailing Lurav 26-12 after one quarter and 46-29 at halftime.
Rappahannock outscored Lurav 21-17 in the third period and 20-17 in the final quarter but couldn’t auite catch up.
Wavne Deal, starting his second game after being out five ;weeks with a broken arm, led Panther scorers with 18 points and Settle pumped in 17. Milt Frve led all scorers for Luray with 21 points. Ron Brown had 16.
With Wayne Deal returning, the Panthers are now without the services of C. H. Deal, out 'with torn ligaments in his chest.
Tomorrow night Rapoahaninock is home facing Turner Ashby and close the 1968-69 ' season Tuesday against Central, also a home game.
