TB Assoc. Mails
Monthly health posters and leaflets have been mailed by the Tuberculosis and Health Association of Northern Virginia to 90 industries in the area. They serve as a reminder that TB can be prevented and cured by modem drugs.
“After centuries of effort”, says Earle Hoffman, president of the TB Association, “medical science at last has developed highly effective medicines for tuberculosis.” “Isoniazid, a safe and inexpensive drug, can prevent the disease before it developes, or cure it after it has gained a foothold."
“A tuberculin test shows whether TB germs are in the !bodv. A chest X-ray can indicate | whether there is probably disease ; Today TB infection is often ; treated successfully with littlr or no hospitalization. But the earlier it is detected, the better the i chance of success.”
