If you don’t get much sense out of those last lines it’s probably because you’ve never tried bringing down a dove with a load of shot. And too, there may be among us somewhere those who don’t have much trouble hitting a dove. Most of us, (that’s me and at least one other sorry shot) have quite a time hitting those doggone things. Unless there has been a lot of improvement in the shooters or unless the doves have slowed down and stopped that infernal airborne jitterbug the story is apt to be the same thu year. It will soon be time to find out. The season opens at 12 o’clock noon on Saturday September 6.
