Dr. Robert A. van Brederode has joined Esso Research and Engineering Company and is located at the Baytown Chemicals Research Laboratory, Baytown, Texas. He is in the section that conducts research on plastic products.
Dr. van Brederode is the son of Mrs. Mary S. van Brederode, Blue Rock Farm, Washington. He is a graduate of Babylon High School, Babylon, N. Y. and received his B.S. and PH. D. degrees in chemical engineering from Cornell University. At the University he was president of the orchestra and was a member of the band and of the student chapters of American Chemical Society, American Institute of Chemical Engineers and American Association for the Advancement of Science. He was elected to Phi Eta Sigma, Tau Beta Pi and Phi Kappa Phi honorary fraternities.
He Is married to the former Margaret W. Powell of Greensboro, N. C.
