Series of Wrecks
Since Thursday
A series of incidental wrecks las occurred in Rappahannock bounty in the past week and been investigated by Trooper J. B. Willis. Thursday afternoon on Route 730 south of Amissville Robert Leeroy Vetter of Amissville was involved in a single vehicle crash. He lost control of his 64 Ford pickup, ran off the right of the road, across to the left, veered back to the right and overturned, said the officer. Vetter sustained abrasions of the leg and was taken to Fauquier Hospital, Warrenton by Amissville Rescue Squad where he was treated and released. He was charged with reckless driving.
Robert Brady of Flint Hill was charged with reckless driving as a result of a single-car crash which occurred about 2:10 a.m. Sunday on Route 522 near Huntly. Brady, operating a 60 Ford, ran off the left of the road and struck a drainage ditch then continued along the edge of the road for some distance. He sustained lacerations of the face and damage to his teeth.
A collision involving two vehicles occurred on Route 211 in front of Pine Knot Inn Monday afternoon. Raymond Smith Jenkins of Front Royal, operating a 63-64 Chevrolet pickup owned by Joel Thomas Kirkland, also of Front Royal, was struck in the rear. The other vehicle was a 63 Ford owned and operated by Joe J. Dingess of Hyattsville, Md. A vehicle had slowed to make a right turn, and the pickup which followed also slowed and was struck by the third car. Dingess was charged with following too closely.
