Junior Women Meet September 23rd

The Rappahannock Junior Women’s Club will meet Tuesday, September 23 in the Trinity Parish Hall, Washington, Va. at 7:30 p.m.

Trooper J. B. Willis will give a talk on Self Defense.

Dr. McCoy To Head

Dr. William Henry McCoy of Jacksonville, Fla. has been named president of Region 15 Community College located at Middletown, with whidh Rappahannock County is affiliated. According to A. Y. Stokes of Sperryville, a college board member from Rappahannock, Dr. McCoy comes highly recommended.

Mr. McCoy, 41, is a native of Jacksonville where he received his early education. He received his B.A. degree, Master of Education and Doctorate of Education from the University of Florida. He has taught in public schools in Florida and has acted in the capacity of Director of the News Bureau, Director of Placement and Registrar at Jacksonville University and as a graduate assistant, assistant professor of education and assistant to the president at the University of Florida. He served with the U. S. Army from 1950-53 graduating from OCS at Fort Sill, Okla. and served in the Far East. Additional administrative experience includes work with the U. S. Department of Agriculture at Coral Gables and Legislative Assistant to Member of Congress, Hon. Paul Rodger.
