Mrs. Alice Dorsey
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Waddell and family of Silver Spring, Md. and Mr. and Mrs. Ned Conklin and family of Winchester spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Howard J. Waddell. Frank White and son-in-law of Fairfax were Thursday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Olney Kennedy.
Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Alfred arrived home Monday after a trip to Massachusetts where they attended the wedding of Miss Laurice Thornton and Vincent Melindy in North Billerica, oh Sunday. Later they flew to Buffalo where they visited Mr. Alfred’s nephew James Southerland and family and visited Niagara Falls.
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas S. Hensley and children and Mrs. Hensley’s mother Mrs. Gladys Schlosser were in Clinton, Md. on Sunday to visit Mrs. Schlosser’s brother-in-law and sister Mr. and Mrs. Donald Walker and daughters and also her nephew Donald S. Walker and Mrs. Walker.
Mrs. Woodrow Coughlin of Castleton was a Wednesday luncheon guest of Mr. and Mrs. Robert S. McDaniel.
The three daughters of Mr. and Mrs. George A. Johnston, Mrs. Ashby Thornhill of Boston, Mrs. Lee Pay ne of Woodville and Mrs. Paul E. Karnes of Culpeper surprised him on Sunday when he came for dinner to the home of Mrs. Karnes with a celebration for his 70th birthday. Those present were the families of the three daughters and Miss Carol Lee Quaintance of Sperryville. Afternoon guests were Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Carter and daughter Mrs. Joe Moyer and family of Front Royal.
Thomas E. Brown has returned from six months military training at Fort Polk, La. While he was there his wife, the former Miss Joyce Jenkins, returned to the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Gid Jenkins here. Mr. and Mrs. Brown are now living in Culpeper.
Miss Faye Burke has moved into an apartment in Richmond she shares with Miss Frances Garr of Remington. They will both work for the telephone company in Richmond.
