Miss Ethel Anne Jenkins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jonas R. Jenkins of Washington, Va., became the bride of Douglas N.Clatterbuck on Saturday, November 15,1969. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gabriel 0. Clatterbuck of Culpeper.
The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. B. Gale Htchenell in the Washington Baptist Church, at two o’clock in the afternoon. Arrangements of white flowers, ferns and candelabra decorated the church.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of off-white satin with an empire waistline and long fitted sleeves. Hie entire dress was overlaid with lace except for the train and bow in back. Her shoulder length veil was attached to a satin bow and she carried white roses on a white prayer book.
Miss Betty Jenkins was maid of honor for her sister. Her long A-line gown, with a fitted bodice, was made of gold brocade. She carried a bouquet of bronze chrysanthemums with gold and bronze streamers.
Bridesmaids were Mrs. Jack Jenkins of Washington, sister-in-law of the bride; Mrs. Nancy Noakes of Flint Hill and Miss Mary Lee Atkins of Washington, cousins of the bride. Their dresses of avocado were designed like that of the maid of honor. They carried gold chrysanthemums with gold streamers.
Janet Jenkins, niece of the bride, was flower girl. She wore a long gown fashioned like the other attendants. She carried a basket of white chrysantehmum petals. Jack Jenkins, Jr., nephew of the bride, was ringbearer.
Tony Allen of Culpeper was best man. Ushers were Jonas, Jr., Jimmie and Bill Jenkins, all brothers of fhe bride.
A reception was held following the ceremony at the Jenkins
