Adult Ed. Committee Discusses Courses
The Adult Education Curriculum Committee met Thursday, April 23 at the Extension Office, Washington. The following members were present: Mrs. Mary Cleverley, Chairman, Mrs. Julia Atkins, Mrs. Ethel Bailey, Mrs. Woodrow Bennett, Mrs. Maybelle Gilkey, Raymond Johnson, Paul Poling, Sherwood Boze and Miss Judy Burtner.
Reports from committee members indicated that the following courses were the most in demand: upholstering, welding, small engines/motors, record keeping • will*, deeds, income taxes; ceramics, furniture re-finishing, typing, chair caning and wood carving. ,
The budget and instructor: were discussed. The next meeting of the Committee will be in September with Mr. O. A. Norton, Supt. of Warren and Rappahannock Public School, to make final plans.
320 Children Receive Measles Vaccine
A total of 320 children, ages 5 through 9, received the German measles vaccine at the clinic held Monday at Rappahannock County Elementary School. Of these, 35 were pre-school children and the others were first through third grades. This was 78% of the children eligible. A make-up clinic will in all probability be held at a later date which will be announced. This will include those who were eligible but could not participate because of conflicting inoculations, illness, etc.
