Miss Aileen H. Laing received her Ph.D. in the History of Art in February from John Hopkins University. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas G. Laing of Bunree Farm, Amissville. Miss Laing attended Sweet Briar College and George Washington University. Her graduate work, done at Johns Hopkins, included a dissertation, The Queen Mary. Her Apocalypse was A Fourteen Century Manuscript. She is an assistant professor at Ashland College, Ashland, Ohio.

Mrs. Mary Cleverley of Flint Hill has been appointed central registrar for Rappahannock County to register eligible voters for elections. Mrs. Cleverley will be in her office in the courthouse at Washington, Va. each Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. She will handle all phases of registry, including transfers, and sitting on special days prior to elections.
