The twenty-second running of he Rappahannock Hunt point-to>oint races on March 6 over fames W. Fletcher’s Thornton Till course l‘£ miles south of jperryville, will bring together nany of the top horses and riders >f the point-to-point circuit. The sight event card, starting with the 3air race at 12:30 p.m., has drawn nany of last week’s Casanova itace contestants who will try heir skill over the rolling course.

The main interest is in the seventh race, the Ben Venue. Points won in this race count oward the Seven Corners Trophy or the best gentleman owner•ider of the year. The field will nclude Randy Rouse on Buen Paisano, Archibald Kingsley on Vavis, Gilmore Flautt III on Oancing Diamond, Blaine Holloway on Fabuloso, and Joseph

Muldoon, Jr. on Way Over. In addition, this race is expected to spark close competition between :wo brothers who will be riding seasoned horses. David Semmes will be trying for his third victory in this event aboard August Acorn while Harry Semmes will try to push the veteran Sun Castle acrosss the finish line ahead of the "est of the field. Sun Castle finished second last Saturday at Casanova ahead of Buen Paisano and Navis who placed third and Fourth respectively. Close on the heels of these titans is Felix J. Neusch’s Jaycee Queer who romped home under Jere Gilbert, top 1970 lady timber ridei of Virginia, ahead of the field ir the Melrose Castle at Casanova and will try to repeat in the Moun Salem ladies race. Other past winners competinf again this year are Mrs. A. D Kinsley's Tendella who won in th« 1970 pair events at Rappahannock Potomac, and Orange County, anc Elzy Brown’s Flamingo who will be trying for another win in the W A. Laing Memorial.
