In Cost Sharing
Owners of small tracts of woodland are eligible for costsharing assistance in planting or improving a crop which will provide continuing public benefits in the form of improved watersheds, more recreational opportunities, and better ecological balance, as well as proving opportunity for long-term profit to owners.
“Under the Rural Environmental Assistance Program (REAP), the Government will share cost for planting forestry trees or shrubs or improving stands of forest trees,” explained H. S. Barksdale, Chairman of the Rappahannock County Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation (ASC) Committee.
