Registration Night
In response to many requests the General Registrar of Rappahannock County will hold an evening registration period at the Court House in Washington on Saturday, July 17 from 7 to 9 p.m to register new voters, arrange for transfer or any other business. • The Registrar’s office in the courthouse is open each Thursday for business.
Rev. Stirman Accepts
Amissville Pastorate ^
The Rev. Joseph S. Stirman jr. has' accepted the pastorate of Amissville Baptist Church and will arrive here with his family about August 17. Rev. Stirman, 45, a native of Kentucky, was educated at the Kentucky Wesylan College where he received his bachelor of arts degree. He attended New Orleans Baptist Seminary from which he secured his Bachelor of Divinity degree. His most recent pastorate was Natural Bridge Baptist Church. Mrs. Stirman, a native Virginian, has a bachelor of arts degree from Lynchburg College and received her Master of Religious Arts from New Orleans Baptist Seminary. The Stirmans have two children, Becky 10 and Ray 8.
Washington Carnival Receipts Announced
Ennis Jenkins, president of Washington Fire Company, reports that the gross proceeds from the Washington carnival held recently totaled $7,029.13.
