The marriage of Miss Margaret Susan Payne, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harris Lee Payne of Amissville, and Hugh Beale Rodgers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Leroy Rodgers of Suffolk took place Saturday, June 26,1971.

The double ring ceremony was performed at four o’clock in the Washington Baptist Church, Washington, Virginia. The Rev. Dr. James R. Bryant of Richmond officiated. Karl Burke of Washington was organist. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an Empire style gown of white voile fashioned with a high neckline and Juliet sleeves. Her veil of French illusion edged with tiny lace was full length. She carried a bouquet of phalaenopsis orchids and stephanotis.
