The contract for refuse removal in Rappahannock County was awarded Blue Ridge Refuse operated by Larry Welch of Flint Hill, and the contract was let for two years. Blue Ridge was the low bidder on the trash contract and his duties will be assumed August 31, at which time the present contract expires. Board members discussed the possibility of requiring a surety bond purchased at the expense of the county but this was found unnecessary.
Attention was focused on the fact that the term of T. V. Williams on the Planning Commission had expired and that the term of I. L. Parrish on the Water and Sewer Authority had also expired. Both were reelected to these posts.
Accounts were approved for payment before adjournment.
