A "BANG-UP" FOURTH'
The street fair and exhibits sponsored by the Rappahannock Library in celebration of the Fourth of July was exceptionally successful. A crowd of over 500 came, looked, ate, played games, and appeared to thoroughly enjoy themselves. All in all, it was a beautiful day, blessed with wellnigh perfect weather and illustrative of what everyday folk can do when they thoroughly support an idea. Over 100 persons were actively involved in the many phases of such a project, arid to them as well as to all those who made their work worthwhile by attending and enjoying it, your Library extends a hearty thank you.
RegretfullyThe Library reports with regret the loss of Mrs. CiCi Reynolds as assistant librarian. Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds and their children have moved back to old haunts, and the 51-mile trip becomes economically unprofitable. CiCi’s interest and enthusiasm for the library and the community here continues, however, and she will serve as a special consultant on children’s books, on a volunteer basis. Glad it’s “Au revoir’’ and not “Goodbye”, CiCi! LIBRARY HOURS: Wednesday and Friday, 1 to 5 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
