Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Atkins and children Wendy and Kevin of Chester, Pa. spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Hugh S. Atkins.

Mrs. Raymond Rector of Marshall was a supper guest Friday of Mrs. Perle Coffey and Mrs. Thelma Romaine. James Nelson Rector of Richmond, Raye Rector of Flint Hill and Raymond Rector joined them later in the evening.

NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC Notice is hereby given to the public that Virginia Telephone ft Telegraph Company on July 14, 1971, filed with the State Corporation Commission new schedules, making changes in existing rates, charges, rules and regulations. The effective date of the applicant’s proposed new schedules of rates and charges has been suspended until January 1, 1972. The proposed new schedules will result in increased charges for telephone service. An investigation of the proposed rates and charges, rules and regulations has been entered upon by the State Corporation Commission and a hearing on the new schedules has been set for 10:00 A.M. on December 13, 1971. in the Courtroom of the Commission, Blanton Building, Richmond, Virginia, at which time and place members of the public generally may appear and present such relevant data as may be desired and be heard.
