One of the more popular activities to the students was a visit to the Mt. Vernon Dairy Farm where the children were given a guided tour of the facilities. Throughout the entire program, parents were invited to attend the program; but a special day was planned for them on July 19; 1971. On that day 69 enthusiastic parents arrived, many on the buses that their children rode, and were greeted by Mrs. Mary Quaintance, principal, Mrs. Corina Fountain, helping teacher and the staff consisting of five teachers, five teacher-aides and a librarian.
