The Congressman was introduced by Dr. Carroll Quaintance, chairman of the Republican Party in Rappahannock and a short talk by Douglas Baumgardner told the views of the young people concerning the GOP candidate.
Mr. Robinson said he was working hard to “justify the confidence” of his backers. He said he felt there was a gap between the party he represented and the party represented there, but he felt he was also truly among friends.
ROBINSON never mentioned a name but referred to a possible competitive candidate “who parroted the same sentiments as the Democratic presidential candidate.”
Robinson said: “He is radical as far as his belief in the free enterprise system.”
The Congressman- touched on the subject of Vietnam and the economic philosophy and said this year’s national campaign issue is “moderation versus McGovernism.” □
