In fact, too much sun has been called the single most common cause of skin cancer, according to Dr. J. Shelton Horsley III, President of the American Cancer Society’s Virginia Division. In Virginia this year there will be an estimated 2,400 new cases of skin cancer diagnosed in addition to approximately 100 deaths from this kind of cancer.
