A two-car collision which occurred Wednesday morning in front of the local high school on Route 211 west of Washington resulted in serious injury to the driver of each. Investigation was not complete at press time and all names were not available. Involved, however, was a 65 Oldsmobile driven by Gordon Rhodes Nelson of Stephenson which was struck by a 69 Chevrolet Nova, the operator of which was not identified. The Nova was owned by a Falls Church man serving duty overseas. The investigation was being carried on by Trooper K.L. Miller who had an afternoon court commitment which interrupted the completion of the case. The operator of the Olds had a head injury while the other driver sustained a severe leg injury. He was pinned in the wreckage and it took a long time to extricate him with wrecking bars and an axe.
