An unidentified vehicle traveling east in the west lane of dual Route 211 a half mile west of Ben Venue Sunday night was the apparent cause of a crash which occurred about 11:30.
William Isaac Greener III of Springfield driving a 1968 Ford station wagon was attempting to pass another vehicle heading west when the headlights of a third vehicle loomed in front of him. He cut abruptly to the left of the road and struck the embankment.
According to investigating officer W.A. Buntin, the Greener vehicle was the only one involved in the actual crash which was attested to by the operator
