The following letter was sent the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors at the July meeting. Board of Supervisors Rappahannock County Washington, Virginia
Gentlemen:
“Although we had damage from the recent high water, I can see one benefit: It appears to have cleaned the trash, cans, and garbage from our streams. They look clear and clean now, and are quite pretty. In their present condition they add to the beauty of our county.
“Can you pass an ordinance making it unlawful to throw trash in our streams and put teeth in it; also instruct our county law officers to watch for offenders?”
